Happy 4th Of July! Time to bust out the sunscreen, visit your favorite snow cone stand, enjoy a few weeks of relaxation or read a good book. But wait— it's also the perfect time to make plans for summer music lesson and summer camps!
The 4th of July is also certainly a great time to listen to a patriotic song or two about America. And with so many great songs about this country, they often vary wildly in tone, and many are full-throttle patriotic celebrations. Some contain more complicated positions, but each one of these songs, rest assured, starts from a love of this amazing country.
Let's start with the Star-Spangled Banner. There have been many unique renditions of this tune over the years, but my recent favorite was county singer and eight-time Grammy winner Chris Stapleton at the Super Bowl. He belted out this incredible heartfelt, very moving rendition of the song that set a new bar for all singers.
Oh, and let's not forget Whitney Houston's 1991 goosebump rendition of that song that will knock your socks off. (Both are available on Youtube). Singing at the Super Bowl is a career-changing opportunity for many singers and a joy to watch.
Let's remember that these fantastic musicians started learning music somewhere. Perhaps they just picked up a guitar and started playing, but there are more enormous odds that they signed up for music lessons. One thing we know for sure is that they started! And that is what Summer Music is all about!
If you're wondering what to do this summer, you might mindlessly scroll through social media or spend too many hours on the couch. Instead, you should make the most of your time and sign up for music lessons! Learning an instrument is fun, offers many benefits, and is ideally suited for summertime. Stress relief, health improvements, cognitive benefits, and increased creativity are just a few reasons. In addition, confidence boosting is a lifelong skill that so many receive through weekly music lessons.
If you are already taking lessons… we know, we know it can be tempting to take a break from lessons over the summer. Still, with a bit of planning, it's possible to incorporate music education into your summer routine.
While school might be out for the summer, children should keep busy and continue their education. Along with family BBQs, sunny beach days, and other exciting activities that are a part of the summer weather and increased free time, children can also easily spend more time practicing and learning to play an instrument.
There are several reasons why children will benefit from getting into summer music lessons this season. Just a few are: trying something new, keeping your skill going, less overall pressure, and the best one yet —- music won't feel like homework!!! So sign up today for YOUR chance to bring music and freedom into your Summer Fun!
