Why You Should Take Lesson With National School Of The Year

Excellence is never an accident.
It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort,
And intelligent execution;
It represents the wise choice of many alternatives
- Choice, not chance determines your destiny.

How to Achieve Excellence

Achieving excellence is a journey. Excellence is developed over time through thoughtful and wise work and a continued passionate focus on providing non-stop services to the community. It is a result of deep soulful passion and continued performance.

In 2009 Camille Hastings opened Leading Note Studios in Encinitas. It was not by chance that she named it “Leading Note Studios.” Even in the title, she strived for the excellence that receiving “National School of The Year” entails. She started her music school journey with just five students and continued to strive for excellence. How did she do that?

Strive for Excellence, not Perfection

She focused on excellence. Excellence paves the way for improvement, while perfection breeds stagnation and limits change and necessary innovation and creativity. Perfection is a fantasy, but excellence is possible and feasible. Excellence has an eye for delivering quality goods and services and overcoming obstacles.

Here are Camille’s top 3 tips for achieving excellence.

  1. Be passionate.  When you do what you love, you don’t feel like you are working, so you derive pleasure from it—being passionate keeps you involved. When you are involved - the sky is the limit on your success.

  2. Find a mentor.  Find someone that excels in your field and who solicits continuous feedback. Feedback helps you spot where you need improvement. Continuous improvement paves the way for ultimate success.

  3. Work smart.  Working smart is about detailed preparations, and a plan to proceed forward with new ideas. Innovative work conserves time, money, and resources.

Ranking in the top 7 schools in the nation and competing with over 700 schools Nationwide, we received the prestigious “Clash of the Titans” nomination through the Music Academy Success Systems (MASS). Why We Achieved this Award

Recognition is based on merit and is achieved by providing invaluable services within a community. Camille has been providing joy and music to the community by offering lessons for all musical instruments, four recitals per year, summer camps, instrument rentals, a musical ladder incentive program, lesson packages, an in-house professional Recording Studio, and more!!

As the National Music School of the Year, we continued to stay open during the pandemic, made sure that students received their weekly lessons, and brought joy to many households that were staying home. We focused on excellence, not perfection, and as a result, Leading Note Studios now serves over 850 clients weekly bringing quality music education, service and creative opportunities to two communities, Encinitas and now San Marcos. Check us out. You will be glad you did.
